The Skivvies with special guest Tamika Lawrence

  • Forestburgh Playhouse 39 Forestburgh Rd Forestburgh, NY, 12777 (map)

Things are steaming up in Forestburgh! The Skivvies are on their way. Get ready to be delighted by the multi-talented Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina as they strut their stuff on our Outdoor Stage! Added bonus--Broadway's Tamika Lawrence will make a very special guest appearance!

The Skivvies are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, singer/actor/musicians performing stripped down arrangements of eclectic covers and eccentric originals. Not only is the music stripped down - cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica - but the Skivvies literally strip down to their underwear to perform. The New York Times calls them “a hot musical comedy duo specializing in unexpected arrangements, incongruous mashups, and of course, highly toned displays of skin.” With residencies at places like Joe's Pub and 54 Below in NYC to touring the country and television appearances, The Skivvies, always performing with fabulous Broadway special guests "have managed to carve out a niche that we never knew needed to exist. It's part Weird Al-parody and part sexy burlesque...an unusual explosion of satire and sultry."- Out Magazine. Molina and Cearley have performed as actors on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally. Together they've starred as Brad and Janet in the Rocky Horror Show which inspired their own twist on the music from the show. In October 2020, the Skivvies released "The Rocky Horror Skivvies Show" available wherever you stream music. They are also co-conceivers, as well as Linus and Lucy, in a new actor-instrumental version of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown which debuted at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park in 2019 and is planning a production in NYC.
